Elizabeth's Grove Cemetery

Rosa L. Taylor
1 Nov 1874 - NDD

Although Rosa has a tombstone at Culpepper/Elizabeth's Grove Cemetery, no death date is inscribed. Her Texas Death Certificate lists her as buried 'Savoy Cemetery - Savoy' which is most likely reference to Sunnyside Cemetery. Her brother, John I. (J.I.) was the informant on her death certificate and on his father's. According to his death certificate AND a tombstone at Sunnyside Cemetery, he is buried there.

Further investigation at Sunnyside may yeild another tombstone for Rosa which would solve the mystery. Until then, we are assuming she is buried at Culpepper where her marker is found.

On the 1900 Census, she is recorded living with her parents as 'Rosetta'. See snip below scrapbook.
